Overview
The F6 is Decoflame’s top automatic bioethanol burner, made in Denmark. It drops into an opening in a wall, bench or joinery and gives a long line of real flame, with no flue, chimney or gas line. It plugs into a power point and runs from the remote control, your phone or the panel on the burner.
Why choose the F6
- Five flame levels plus ECO mode. Set from the remote, the Decoflame app or the panel on the burner.
- Control from your phone. The app adjusts the flame, shows the fuel level and sets a switch-off timer. A smart home module is an optional extra.

Flue requirements
No flue or chimney required.
Clearance requirements
Build into non-combustible material only. Keep curtains and furniture at least 1 m away. The wall above the fire gets warm (up to 60°C): use non-combustible material for at least 300 mm above the opening. In brick or masonry with no steel plate or casing above the burner, the opening must be at least 500 mm high. Under a timber ceiling, keep at least 1 m between the top of the fireplace and the ceiling.
FAQs
Does it need a flue or chimney?
No. Decoflame bioethanol fires do not need a flue, a chimney or a gas connection.
The room does need to be big enough. Where Decoflame gives a minimum room size, it is in the Specifications tab. Decoflame also advises letting in fresh air while the fire is running, for example by opening a window for 5 to 10 minutes or leaving a door to the next room open.
Does it need power?
Yes. It has an electronic burner, so it needs an earthed power point. Decoflame specifies a 240 V, 10 amp power point. The power runs the ignition, the controls and the safety sensors. The flame itself burns bioethanol.
Have a licensed electrician fit the power point before the fireplace goes in.
What fuel does it use, and how long does a tank last?
It burns liquid bioethanol at 96.5 to 97.5% strength, with nothing added. Do not use gel fuel or scented fuel.
The built-in tank holds from 3.8 L (620 mm) to 16.4 L (2520 mm). A full tank burns for up to 20.5 hours, depending on the flame level you choose. On the highest flame level, allow about 6.5 to 8 hours.
For longer running, Decoflame offers an automatic external tank system as an optional extra. Ask us for a price.
How do I control it?
With the remote control supplied, the Decoflame app on your phone, or the panel on the burner. There are five flame levels plus an ECO mode, and a timer to switch it off. The app also shows the fuel level. A smart home module is available as an optional extra.
Will it heat my room?
It gives off real heat, and the heat output is in the Specifications tab. Decoflame designs its fires to add warmth and atmosphere alongside your main heating, not to replace it.
What does my builder need to know?
It is for indoor use and must be built into non-combustible material such as brick, concrete or fire-rated board. The opening must be closed off above, below and at the sides so no draught can run through the wall, and the supports under the burner must be level.
An earthed power point goes inside the opening, below the burner. Keep curtains and furniture at least 1 m away, and use non-combustible material for at least 300 mm above the opening. In brick or masonry with no steel plate or casing above the burner, the opening needs to be at least 500 mm high.
The installation manual under Downloads has the recess sizes and drawings. Give it to your builder before the opening is made, and have a licensed electrician fit the power point.
Can I put a TV above it?
Decoflame does not recommend putting a TV, artwork or anything heat-sensitive directly above the fire, because warm air rises. If you do, Decoflame’s guide is at least 800 mm between the fire opening and the TV. That can be reduced when the TV is recessed or there is a shelf between them to deflect the heat. The exact distances are in the manual or datasheet under Downloads.
What is included, and what is not?
Included: the F6 burner with its built-in fuel tank, a tempered glass screen with holders, the remote control, the electronic filling pump and the manual. The Decoflame app is a free download.
Not included: the wall, bench or surround it is built into, the fuel, and the optional smart home module and external tank system.
What is the warranty?
It comes with a 2 year warranty. You can extend this to up to 7 years by buying an extended warranty. Ask us for details when you order.
