Overview
Montreal is a complete built-in bioethanol fireplace from Decoflame, made in Denmark. The 8 mm aluminium casing slides into an opening in your wall, so there is no firebox to build and no flue, chimney or gas line to run. This is the right corner model: open at the front and the right side.
Why choose Montreal Right Corner
- A finished casing, ready to build in. 8 mm aluminium casing and baseplate, powder coated in fine-textured black.
- Three sizes. 800, 1000 or 1200 mm wide, all 400 mm high. Made-to-measure lengths are available on request.
- Your choice of burner. A manual burner you light by hand, or an automatic burner that lights at the press of a button.
- Long burn time with the automatic burners. Up to 20.5 hours from a full tank, depending on the flame level.
- No flue, chimney or gas connection. The automatic burners need a power point. The manual burner needs none.
- Clean burning. No smoke, soot or ash.
- 2 year warranty. Up to 7 years when you buy an extended warranty.
Which burner?
- Manual burner. Lit by hand with a long lighter. You set the flame and put it out with the tool supplied.

FAQs
Does it need a flue or chimney?
No. Decoflame bioethanol fires do not need a flue, a chimney or a gas connection.
The room does need to be big enough. Where Decoflame gives a minimum room size, it is in the Specifications tab. Decoflame also advises letting in fresh air while the fire is running, for example by opening a window for 5 to 10 minutes or leaving a door to the next room open.
Which burner should I choose?
Manual burner: lit by hand with a long lighter. You set the flame and put it out with the tool supplied. The simplest and lowest-priced option.
F2 automatic burner: push-button ignition, two flame levels, remote control and a filling pump.
F3 automatic burner: push-button ignition, three flame levels, remote control and a filling pump.
F6 automatic burner: five flame levels plus ECO mode, remote control, control from the Decoflame app on your phone, and a filling pump. A smart home module is an optional extra.
All the automatic burners have sensors that watch temperature, fuel level and spills, and shut the fire down if something is wrong. Not every model is offered with every burner: the choices for this model are in the Burner menu on this page.
Does it need power?
It depends on the burner you choose. The automatic burners need an earthed power point (Decoflame specifies 240 V, 10 amp), which runs the ignition, the controls and the safety sensors. The manual burner is lit by hand and needs no power.
What fuel does it use, and how long does a tank last?
It burns liquid bioethanol at 96.5 to 97.5% strength, with nothing added. Do not use gel fuel or scented fuel.
With an automatic burner, a full tank burns for up to 20.5 hours depending on the flame level you choose. With the manual burner, allow up to 7 hours.
Will it heat my room?
It gives off real heat, and the heat output is in the Specifications tab. Decoflame designs its fires to add warmth and atmosphere alongside your main heating, not to replace it.
What does my builder need to know?
Montreal is a finished casing that slides into an opening in the wall. Line the opening with non-combustible material such as fire-rated board or brick, and leave the 5 mm gap around the casing open: do not seal it.
Use non-combustible material for at least 300 mm above the casing, and keep furniture and curtains at least 1 m away. With an automatic burner, an earthed power point is needed in the recess under the burner.
The Montreal installation manual under Downloads has the sizes and drawings for every layout. Give it to your builder before the opening is made.
Can I put a TV above it?
Decoflame does not recommend putting a TV, artwork or anything heat-sensitive directly above the fire, because warm air rises. If you do, Decoflame’s guide is at least 800 mm between the fire opening and the TV. That can be reduced when the TV is recessed or there is a shelf between them to deflect the heat. The exact distances are in the manual or datasheet under Downloads.
What is included, and what is not?
Included: the Montreal casing and baseplate in black, and the burner you choose. The automatic burners come with a remote control and an electronic filling pump. The manual burner comes with a fuel funnel and lighter.
Not included: the wall and its lining. Glass screens and other finishes are available from Decoflame, so ask us what comes with your size and burner.
What is the warranty?
It comes with a 2 year warranty. You can extend this to up to 7 years by buying an extended warranty. Ask us for details when you order.
How long does delivery take?
We confirm stock and delivery time with Decoflame when you order. If you are working to a build date, contact us before you buy and we will check for you.
